Trip Options Locations Accommodations
Alaska is full of adventure and scenery beyond the imagination, but Alaska in the wintertime is on a whole new level. Mountains are covered in snow, lakes and rivers are frozen, frost hangs on the trees, and a calming peace covers everything. Even with cooler weather this time of year, there is generally plenty of sunshine and good weather days to get out and about for a day of activity. There are a host of things to see and activities to do in the winter from snowmobiling and skiing to experiencing the Fur Rendezvous and Iditarod first hand.
Trips centered out of Lake Clark provide the perfect setting for a winter experience while basing out of Stonewood Lodge. Enjoy a day of activity and return to the lodge to relax around the fireplace and take in the stunning winter views around you. Snowmobiling is fun way for all ages to get out and see the winter time sites and we have trips that both the beginner and the experienced can enjoy. The famous Fur Rendezvous and Iditarod are other classic events that are well worth experiencing. Get a close up look at the mushers and their dog teams at the ceremonial start or for the more adventurous, flight-see along the Iditarod trail. For those wishing to add in a little skiing to their Alaska trip, we offer trips that can get you out on the mountain with a Heli-ski company for a day or two.
Wintertime in Alaska is definitely worth seeing and the variety of activities to take part in will give you a whole new outlook on this great state. We can help you with the proper gear to ensure you stay warm and comfortable on all the outings and tailor a trip around your desires. This is also a great time of year for opportunities to see the Northern Lights as they dance across the sky. Come see us and let us show you the wonderful winter season in Alaska!
